I grew up singing in the church choir and my parents gave me my first guitar for my 18th birthday. Through the years I've had the good fortune to sing at some very special events. Most memorable was being part of the choir for the Kennedy Center Honors Paul McCartney tribute - singing backup for amazing artists. As a teenager I sang in the finale of a Children's Defense Fund gala where Maya Angelou kissed my forehead.
A Couple of My Songs
I started writing songs when I was in college and found one day that I couldn't find an existing song that expressed what I was feeling at that moment. Recently I have found inspiration in the stories of my family and history.
Uncle Calvin about my great, great uncle Calvin Werner who was killed in WWI.

Baseball for the Boys written for my husband about a trip he took as a boy with his father and brother.
